Passing PHP GET into a jQuery function -

i'm using bit of jquery code uses li items select tab displayed. "tabs" divs. jquery code:

where says li:first , adds active class it, i'm trying figure out how can change "tab" gets displayed first depending on php result: <?php $tab = $_get['tab']; ?>

"tab" number 1,2,3 or 4. ie. tab 1, tab 2, etc...so how can use php variable jquery choose tab make active?
