c# - Usage of Server Side Controls in MVC Frame work -

i using asp.net 4.0 , mvc 2.0 web application. project requiremrnt have use server side control in application not possibl in noraml case. ideally want use adrotator control , datalist control. i saw few samples , references in codepleax mvc controllib howwver found less useful. can tell how utilize theese controls in asp.net application along mvc. note: please provide functionalities related adrotator , datalist controls not equivalent functionalities thanks in advace. mvc pages not use normal .net solution makes use of normal .net components impossible. a normal .net page use event driven solution call different methods service side mvc use actions , view completly different way handle things. also, mvc not use viewstate normal .net controlls require. found article discussing mixing of normal .net , mvc.

ruby on rails 3 - My application is showing EXTRA info...which is NOT needed -

i have action called 'list' , defined like

def list    @subjects = subject.order("subjects.position asc")   end

and list view looks like

<div>   <h2>subjects</h2>    <%= link_to("add new subject",{:action=>'new'},:class=>'action new')%>   <table class="listing" summary="subject list">     <tr class="header">        <th>&nbsp;</th>       <th>subject</th>       <th>visible</th>       <th>pages</th>       <th>actions</th>     </tr>      <%= @subjects.each |subject| %>        <tr>      <td><%=subject.position%></td>         <td><%=subject.name%></td>         <td class="center"><%=subject.visible ? 'yes':'no' %></td>      <td class="center"><%=subject.pages.size%></td>      <td class="actions">        <%=link_to "show",{:action=>'show',:id=>subject.id},:class=>'action show'%>        <%=link_to "edit",{:action=>'edit',:id=>subject.id},:class=>'action edit'%>       <%=link_to "delete",{:action=>'delete',:id=>subject.id},:class=>'action delete'%>    </td>   </tr>  <%end%>      </table> </div>

so problem besides getting organized list of subjects nearby link "add subject" page printing information @subjetcs brings controller.

which of course not idea...i can't figure out why happening

your problem line <%= @subjects.each |subject| %>. because you've got <%=, return value of line - @subjects - should written document.

use <% @subjects.each |subject| %> instead suppress output.
